Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid Are Fashion’s Latest It Couple

When it comes to relationships, the old saying is that opposites attract—but fashion-wise, the most famous couples of the moment have embraced a more unified approach. There’s the polished J-Rod and Nickyanka, two A-list pairs who always coordinate classic ensembles for their day-to-day outings, or the grungier Biebers, who have a penchant for wearing matching streetwear. Now, there’s a stylish new link-up to throw into the mix with a like-minded aesthetic: singer Dua Lipa and model Anwar Hadid.

Yesterday, the two stars made their debut as a couple at a concert in Hyde Park, London—and their couple’s style began with a bang. Both chose casual festival looks that had more of a fashion spin. Lipa wore an oversize sports cardigan—the Toronto Blue Jays, surprisingly—with high-waisted khakis and mounds of gold jewelry, a classic black fanny pack slung around her shoulder. Meanwhile, Hadid chose a quilted green jacket that complemented her khakis, wearing it with an unbuttoned shirt underneath and black trousers.

In many ways, Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris feels like a bubble full of embroidery, feathers and acres of tulle ruffles, a showcase of incredible handmade designs that could sell well north of $100,000.

However, at the Autumn-Winter 2019 shows, though the focus remained very much on offering escapism through exquisite fabrics and elaborate craftsmanship, some couturiers also provided touches of realism. At a time when consumers are increasingly conscious of the impact the fashion industry has on the environment, many couturiers are keen to highlight how craftsmanship can elevate upcycling to new heights.

Meet the Men’s Street-Style Star Whose Fashion Delivers a Powerful Message

The street style scene outside the Spring 2020 menswear shows in Paris was a feast for the senses. Men took to the streets in bold sportswear and kilts. But there was one particular subject, captured by Vogue’s photographer Phil Oh, that stole the show: that’s Quin Lewis. Dressed in Thom Brown’s gingham shorts suit, he allowed the shortened silhouette to showcase his prosthetic leg, using fashion as a means for both body confidence and empowerment.
